Bauhaus Donut Lamp

The Bauhaus Donut Lamp from Delva Home is a 30 cm ring of glass in a metal frame, glowing amber from the whole circumference rather than from a bulb inside a shade. Stood on a desk it reads as a sculpture; mounted flat to a wall it becomes a halo. Both work, and the fixture ships ready for either.

A touch sensor handles everything: tap to switch it on and again to cycle three levels, and the LED runs warm, neutral or cool white depending on the mode. Because the light comes from the ring rather than a point, there is nothing to glare at even when you are sitting right beside it.

Glass and metal give it 2 kg of weight, which is what stops a lamp this shape from feeling flimsy and keeps it stable standing up. It draws up to 40W and runs on 220 to 240V. It suits bedrooms, hallways, workspaces and living rooms. Clean the glass with a soft, barely damp cloth.
