Crystal Wall Light

The Crystal Wall Light from Delva Home works on refraction rather than brightness. Precision-cut crystal panels sit in a stainless steel frame, and when the two G9 bulbs are lit the crystal splits and scatters the light across the wall, giving a moving, faceted glow rather than a flat pool. Unlit, it still catches daylight and reads as a piece worth looking at.

Two sizes are available: 14 cm across by 30 cm high for a bedside or a narrow hallway, and 21 by 45 cm where you want a genuine statement beside a bed or along a corridor. Either suits a room of roughly 10 to 15 square metres. Stainless steel keeps the frame from tarnishing, and the crystal holds its clarity for years with almost no attention.

It is rated IP20 and intended for dry indoor areas only, so living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and entrances rather than bathrooms. Two G9 bulbs are required and not included, and it runs on 220 to 240V. Dust the crystal with a soft dry cloth to keep it bright. It is wall-mounted and hardwired, so have it installed by a qualified electrician where local rules require it.
