The Handcrafted Wooden Pendant Light from Delva Home is turned and finished by hand from sustainable timber, which means no two shades are identical. Grain runs differently through each one, the tone varies from piece to piece, and the small irregularities left by hand-shaping are what give it a warmth a moulded shade never has.

Wood does something specific to light: rather than reflecting it hard, the shade absorbs and warms it, so what falls on a table below is a soft, honey-toned pool rather than a bright disc. That makes it well suited to the places people sit for a while, a dining table, a kitchen island or a reading corner, where the quality of the light matters more than its strength.

The cord height is adjustable at installation, so it can hang low over a table or higher in an open-plan room, and it works well in a row of two or three above a long surface. It takes a standard E26 or E27 bulb, not included, and runs on 90 to 260V AC. Dust it with a dry cloth and keep it away from damp. Have it installed by a qualified electrician where local rules require it.
