Huangdong Travertine Wall Lamp

The Huangdong Wall Lamp from Delva Home pairs a block of hand-finished travertine with warm timber, following the wabi-sabi idea that a material's irregularities are the point. Travertine is naturally pitted and veined, so every piece looks different and none of them look manufactured.

At 16 cm high and 6.5 cm deep it is small and sits close to the wall, which suits a staircase, a corridor or the space beside a bed. The head adjusts, so the beam can be aimed at a step, a book or the wall itself depending on what the space actually needs.

The LED is included and draws 5 to 7W, covering roughly three to six square metres with a soft, focused light rather than a broad wash. It runs on 220 to 240V. Dust the stone with a soft dry brush rather than a cloth, which catches on the surface. Have it installed by a qualified electrician where local rules require it.
