Magpie Pendant Light

The Magpie Pendant Light from Delva Home hangs a single perched bird inside a slim metal ring, lit from within by an integrated LED. The whole composition is a line drawing in three dimensions: almost no mass, a lot of shape, and a warm glow tracing the frame. It is a piece for a room where you want one thing to look at rather than several.

Two frame shapes are available. The circular version at 29 cm across suits a bedside, a hallway or one end of a bench, and hangs well in pairs. The ellipse at 35 by 17 cm stretches horizontally, which makes it better suited to a dining table or a console. Three finishes, gold, black with gold, and silver, cover warm and cool palettes.

The integrated 31W LED means no bulb to buy and no filament visible through the acrylic, and the zinc alloy frame keeps its finish. The 150 cm cable is adjustable at installation for any ceiling height, and it runs on AC 85 to 265V. It is a hardwired ceiling fixture, so have it installed by a qualified electrician where local rules require it.
