Ribbed Glass Pendant Light

The Ribbed Glass Pendant Light from Delva Home does something a plain shade cannot: the vertical fluting in the glass breaks light into soft vertical bands, so the fixture reads as texture even before it is switched on. Polished brass hardware above the shade adds warmth and keeps the whole thing from looking clinical.

At 20 cm wide and 30 cm tall it is a slim, upright profile, which is what makes it work in a row over a kitchen island or a long dining table without crowding. Three glass options, clear, white and green, change the character completely: clear for sparkle, white for a diffused glow, green for a deeper and more period look. Installation hardware is included.

It mounts semi-flush and the fixture is detachable, which makes changing a bulb or cleaning the shade straightforward rather than a two-person job. It takes an E26 bulb, not included, and runs anywhere between 110 and 240V. The glass wipes clean with a soft, barely damp cloth. It is hardwired, so have it installed by a qualified electrician where local rules require it.
