Wilhelm Bauhaus Table Lamp

The Wilhelm Table Lamp from Delva Home is Bauhaus geometry reduced to its parts: a frosted glass dome, a polished chrome column and a glass base. Nothing is decorative, everything is structural, and the result is a lamp that has looked modern for a century and still does.

The frosted dome is the working element. It diffuses the bulb completely, so what leaves the lamp is an even, warm glow rather than a beam, which is why it works on a bedside table where you want light without brightness at eye level.

At 18 cm across and 36 cm tall it has real presence on a surface, and the glass base gives it the weight to stay put. A pull chain switch keeps the body clean of controls. It takes an E27 bulb, not included, and plugs in, running on 85 to 265V. Clean the glass with a soft, barely damp cloth.
