Urban Concrete Pendant Light

The Urban Concrete Pendant Light from Delva Home is exactly what it says: a cast cement cylinder with metal detailing and a perforated mesh shade. Concrete is an unusual material for a light fixture and it behaves differently, being heavy, cool to the touch, slightly varied in tone from piece to piece, and completely matte.

Six models cover a wide range of proportions, from a narrow 6 cm column at 35 cm long to a squat 25 cm drum at 20 cm high. The narrow ones hang well in rows over a bench or a bar; the wider ones work alone above a bedside or a small table. Black and grey finishes are both available.

It takes an E26 or E27 bulb up to 40W, not included, and an Edison filament suits the industrial look, though an LED works equally well. At 3 kg it needs a fixing into something solid, and the 150 cm cord can be extended on request. It is for indoor use only and hardwired, so have it installed by a qualified electrician where local rules require it.
